The Telling Theatre

... is a touring theatre company based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company was founded in 1996 by Jesper la Cour Andersen and has been touring all over Denmark performing for groups of children, youth and adults.

We are exploring the meeting point between theatre and its origin: The storytelling. All our productions start by telling a story, then adding physical characters and developing the actions.

Our performances have simple sets and costumes; we use primitive instruments, which on occasion are used as props. Through expressive physical and vocal acting, mime, music and direct communication we spur the imagination of the audience, who on their parts are involved in a fantasy journey of the story told.
